El Niño and Its Effects

If you have been watching the local news lately, you would know that our country is under the El Niño Phenomenon. So if you are wondering just what kind of phenomenon this is, this post is for you. According to GMANews.TV , the El Niño Phenomenon is an abnormal weather pattern caused by the warming of the Pacific Ocean. It is characterized by climatic aberrations around the world-warming in South America, torrential rains in North America, and drought in Southeast Asia and Australia. This phenomenon occurs every two to seven years.

We have been seeing in the news the adverse effects El Niño brings. There is water shortage everywhere. The rivers and ponds are drying up. More animals like the chicken, cows and fish have been reported to have died within the last few weeks due to the extreme heat. The vegetables and the green grass are dying too.  Even the dams are nearing the critical levels. Thus, the brownouts.

Aside from that, it can also cause sickness to humans like heat stroke and skin disorders. It is truly affecting all of us, young and old, rich and poor.

    Not to mention the rotating brown-outs! Hayz…so hard talaga. Even kami Sis, we have to turn on the aircon. Kawawa ang mga bata especially si baby Bella. Like kanina dawn, ang taas ng time ng brown-out nagising ang bata kasi naliligo na sya sa pawis. :(
